Mechanism of action
Acetyl-heptapeptide 4 is a heptapeptide that enhances urban fragile skin by promoting microbial community balance and diversity, increasing beneficial bacteria (a characteristic of healthy skin in close contact with nature). Acetyl-heptapeptide 4 can increase beneficial skin bacteria, improve skin immune response, enhance the integrity of physical barrier, and thus improve the skin’s own defense system. It could make the microbiome of urban skin healthier, bringing it closer to the microbiome of human ancestors in close contact with nature. At the same time, it can be observed that cell adhesion is strengthened and the protective effect of the barrier is enhanced.
Beauty benefits
Moisturizing, anti-allergic, soothing: Acetyl-heptapeptide 4 can be added to any formulation to cope with sensitive skin types exposed to urban conditions, enhance skin barrier function and prevent dehydration.
It can also be used in skin care products to maintain the balance of the skin microbiome and enhance beneficial bacteria.
Clinical TESTING
Female volunteers used cream containing 0.005%, applied to the elbow fossa twice a day in the morning and evening, and counted after 7 days. Compared with the skin microbiome samples before and after the use, the bacterial diversity increased, the microbiome balance was better, and the skin was healthier to protect after the use of acetyl heptopede-4. At the same time, skin water loss was reduced by 27%, indicating that acetyl-heptapeptide-4 can protect the physical barrier of the skin and prevent dehydration.
To assess keratinocyte adhesiveness, the experimental part was changed to the calf. The experimental results showed that the exfoliated keratinocyte scale was reduced by 18.6% after the use of acetyl-heptapeptide 4, indicating that acetyl-heptapeptide 4 is helpful for the recovery of sensitive skin.
In vitro tests have shown that acetyl-heptapeptide-4 can enhance the skin’s probiotics, improve the skin’s immune response and the integrity of the physical barrier, and enhance the skin’s own resistance.
